David Byrne
Between the Talking Heads first album in 1977 up to his current release,
David Byrne has demonstrated himself as one of contemporary music's most visionary talents.
Byrne's fascination with world music, a longtime influence on the
Heads' complex polyrhythms, inspired him to form his own record label, Luaka Bop, to give widespread American release to global music. Byrne has thrived artistically during his long music career and is pictured here at a solo tour date at First Avenue in Minneapolis on May 22nd, 2001.
